How this was calculated.

This calculator uses four inputs and one industry benchmark:

  1. Inbound calls per month. Your best estimate of total inbound calls across all channels (direct dial, Google Business profile, website form, referrals).
  2. Missed-call rate. The percentage of those calls that go to voicemail or never connect. Industry average for contractors is 30–40%. Job-site-heavy contractors often hit 50%+.
  3. Close rate on recovered calls. If those missed calls had been answered or captured by AI, how many would have booked? Industry average is 30–40% for warm intakes.
  4. Average job size. Your typical invoice, not your largest or smallest.

The formula

Monthly loss = calls × missed-rate × close-rate × job-size
