Mark Daily Handyman Services: Built for Leads From Day One

Tyler Digital Co · Santa Rosa, CA · Launched April 2026

A Sonoma County handyman with 20+ years of experience, 12 five-star reviews, and no real website. Here's how we built a lead-generation-ready site from scratch — and got the core pages indexed by Google within the first week of launch.

The situation

Mark Daily has been doing handyman work in Santa Rosa for over two decades. He has a reputation. He has referral customers. What he didn't have was a website that pulled in new work from Google — and in a market where most homeowners search before they call, that's a massive gap.

His previous "site" was a legacy PHP setup that Google barely knew about. When we took it over, the plan was simple: build a real handyman site. Service pages for every type of work he does. Location pages for every city in his service area. Blog content that answers what his customers actually search for. And the technical foundation to make sure Google indexes it all.

Every service Mark offers has its own URL with original long-form content: plumbing, drywall repair, gutter cleaning, fence repair, grab bar installation, and eight more.

Every city he serves has a dedicated location page: Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Windsor, and Healdsburg. Each one written specifically for that community — the kinds of properties, the local climate challenges, the typical projects Mark handles there.

Nine blog articles answering the questions his customers are actually Googling. How often to clean gutters in Sonoma County's wet winters. When to cover vs. remove black mold. What thickness drywall you need for your project. ADA guidelines for grab bar placement. Content that ranks, and content that proves Mark knows his craft.

The technical foundation

This is where most contractor sites fall apart. They look fine on the surface but Google can't parse them — so they never rank. Here's what we did differently:

Why this matters: A handyman website doesn't need to win a design award. It needs to show up on Google when a Sonoma County homeowner searches "drywall repair Santa Rosa" or "who cleans gutters near me." The difference between a site that ranks and a site that doesn't isn't the look. It's the technical foundation underneath.

How fast Google indexed it

When Google Search Console first crawled the site, we had a typical mix of "Discovered but not indexed" and "Crawled but not indexed" flags — which is normal for any new domain. Within the first week of launch and sitemap submission, URL Inspection confirmed every major page was live on Google:

The blog posts that GSC initially flagged as "Crawled - not indexed" (a common cold-start issue) were reindexed within the same week once we reinforced internal linking and added the blog content to the homepage.

What comes next

This case study is what the foundation of a lead-generating contractor website looks like. It's what you build before you layer in the parts that actually generate the jobs:

Those are the layers we're rolling out for Mark next. Without the right foundation, none of them work. With it, every lead that lands on the site, every missed call, every completed job becomes a chance to grow.
